Someday I may switch to GNU Cash but I can't move my existing data over from Quickbooks.

It does import IIF files so I'm hoping I can come up with a way to suck the data over as a QIF file, convert it to an IIF file, and then manually import it into QuickBooks.

But if I could get the transactions as a file on my desktop that would be a big step.Īlso, I guess I should explain why I'm doing this. QFX file is known to your system, it is possible to open it by double clicking the mouse or pressing ENTER. HOW TO OPEN QFX FILES FOR MAC
Unfortunately, neither Quicken nor the new Quickbooks 6 for Mac are scriptable either. If none of the applications in your Windows were able to open QFX file do not change file extension because by changing file extension you are corrupting the file. Open Excel Click on Open in the File menu. the reason I don't want to use IE is because it is not scriptable (the version I have) but Safari is. I'd be happy writing a perl script to do this but all this is with https and not http and I do not know if there are perl packages that understand https (maybe its transparent to perl). So I went looking for the usual place where you can specify what to do with each file extension and I can't find any place to set that up. IE handles the whole thing nicely and even pushs the file over to Quicken automatically. If there are accounts in the QXF file that can't be imported, such as investing or business accounts, Quicken displays a list of those accounts. Click Continue to begin importing the file.

Type the name of the QXF file you want to import, or click the Browse button to select it. When I got to Bank One and try to download my transactions using Safari (1.2.2 on 10.3.4), the download window pops open and the transfer "times out" extremely quickly and zero bytes get transferred. Choose File menu > File Import > Quicken Transfer Format (.QXF) file. This may be a Bank One problem but I don't think so. rootqfx5100> request app-engine file-copy from-jhost fpc0host-logs.tar to-vjunos /var/tmp log rootqfx5100> file list /var/tmp/ match host fpc0host-logs.
